Living in this world there are so many unsolved answers. We keep asking questions but never really get answers. What makes us who we are? What makes us see what we see and do what we do and feel what we feel? How are we able to adapt to our societies? What separates us as being individuals?
When reading Banachs’ lecture he believe that “Essence Precedes Existence” which is basically saying that our spirit comes before who we become and before our appearance. And I agree with him. I believe that our spirit comes before our existence. I believe that we are orb/spirits trapped in a body for existence. I feel that once we exist we learn to become who we are as time goes by. We choose the way we live and how we live it.
Do you think that in our society everyone is fake in some ways? I personally feel that everyone is fake in our society because we change roles and how we act with certain people. We don't get the opportunity to act our self. With our parents we are respectful. With friends we are playful and is kind of disrespectful. And etc. changing how we are with different people is not being real. We are posers. Fake. Others identify us on how we act.
When it come to freedom I don’t think we are free at all. I believe that if our spirits comes before our existence then our spirits are trapped in our body which is not free. Our spirits is not free. “What is the point of total freedom? Wouldn’t it make the world worse?” –Julie. I feel that if we did have total freedom the world wouldn’t be safe at all. No authority would be involve, crime rate would increase and people would take advantage of it.
I enjoyed reading Banach’s lecture but there are so many opinions and unsolved questions. Life is a questionable thing.

I like how your blog starts and how you state where individuality come from and how you said it. An i agree with you 100%. Also I like your quotes that you used. They are perfect for what your saying.
After reading your blog i noticed how you analyze your quotes. It shows your your point of view and how you see this quote. Your point is how everyone is individuals and what separates one from everyone else is what we feel and how we feel about certain situations. Not everyone feels the same.
I really like your blog alot but i felt that you can expand on it more and show us more how you view everyone as individuals because it was very interesting read it.
I really enjoyed reading your blog and can't wait to read more.

Hw #1 Existential Imagination
David Banach believe that all people are "absolute individuals" and that basically means that everyone is completely independent. I kind of believe that statement and kind of don't because it matters who the person really is and their background. I kind of don't believe that statement because certain families beliefs. Some families believe that makes it hard for one to be independent. Also it depends on religion because we as people are viewed to be one big family and to help and care for each others. and basically that means that we depend on one another. The reason why i believe this statement because in certain cultures being independent is a form of power and strengths and form knowledge because you were able to survive on your own.
Basically having "absolute freedom" and being and "absolute individual" gives you the freedom to make more independent choices. "Human flourishing" is the growth of a individual's mind and the "human happiness" is the growth of ones happiness. The Ethics or code of action that makes individuality seriously is basically you being able to live and survive through life on your own.
The point of Banach's lecture is confusing to me because he talks like an illusion and that's confusing because illusions make sense but then don't.
I don't believe that Banach is right because if we were alone in this world we wouldn't ever have family or even friends. to me there are no repercussions because I believe Banach is wrong
